At the end of April, the refurbishment and extension of the visitor centre of the Ommegang beer house with café, souvenir store and wine cellars near Cooperstown, which began in January, was still on. Ommegang's latest publication is a six-month long Abbey Ale ripened in a blend of barrels of bitter and spirits in the brewery's cellars.
The Double Barrel Dubbels is available for a short period in a 12-oz pack of 4 and on-design. Also Ommegang has completed his summers concerts plan and will be hosting the yearly Belgium Comes to Cooperstown Festival on August 3rd and 4th. At Hamilton, home of Colgate University, an "accident" a few years ago resulted in one of the beer's being presented in April at the first jubilee celebration of the brewery/tasting room of Good Nature Brewing just outside the town.
