Thunder' s home arena is Arm & Hammer Park. Trenton Thunder was established in 1980 in Glens Falls, New York, as the Glens Falls White Sox.

From 1980-1984, the Chicago White Sox was associated with the Sox. Detroit Tigers superseded the White Sox in 1985, when the club was re-named Glens Falls Tigers, and remained a Tiger Associate after the franchise was transferred to London, Ontario in 1989, where they became the London Tigers and played in historical Labatt Park.

The London Tigers moved to Trenton in 1994 and became Trenton Thunder. They only kept Tiger membership for this year before moving to the Boston Red Sox in 1995. The Thunder became a Yankeesffiliate in 2003 and the Portland Sea Dogs became the new Red Sox-Affiliate.
