The Red Hook is a city in Dutchess County, New York, USA. 3 ] The name is said to derive from the red leaves of the tree on a small stripe of countryside on the Hudson River. The city consists of two towns, Red Hook and Tivoli. It is located in the northwestern part of Dutchess County.

U.S. Route 9 and State Route 9G lead through the city. There are also two villages in the city. The Bard College is situated in the village of Annandale-on-Hudson.
