Made by the ornithologist Louis Agassiz Fuertes (1874-1927), this picture represents the "White List" of hawks that were supposed to be preserved. Designed to track the wild birds activity of the NYS CCC. The NYS Department of Environmental Protection says the redtail buzzard is probably the most frequent predator in New York.
Day hunters need to have a clear view and be patient to catch their catch from bunnies, poultry, snakes, mouse and other small mammals. New York's biggest owl, the Great Horn Owl, is a mighty nocturnal predator with clear audible ears, outstanding sleepy sight, fast, quiet flying (up to 40 mph) and razor-sharp, centimetre-long claws that help them catch gnawers, bunnies, skunks and other raptors.
