Peasants, craftsmen and family come to Geddes every year in August and September for the Great New York State Faire, but this is not the only trade show in the Empire State this year. Over 45 county fairs puncture the calender every season to celebrate past and present, farming and more throughout the country.
Fact: The eight-day Erie County Festival, which began in 1820, is larger than the New York State Festival, which attracted 1,172,635 visitors in 2015 (the State Festival had 908,147 in 12 days). It is the biggest trade show in the state and the country' sultan. The James E. Strates show, which once provided attractions and matches at the trade show, is running halfway through Hamburg.
This year' s events planned for August 10-21 will feature Shawn Mendes; The Happy Together Tour 2016, conducted by The Turtles Featuring Flo & Eddie and Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night; Lee Brice; Hunter Hayes; Rock Fest with Bret Michaels, Warrant and Lita Ford; and Comedian/Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham.
Dutchess County Trade Fairs is the biggest trade show in the whole state. With 394,222 visitors in 2015, it is ahead of the state fairs in Florida and Kansas. On 23-28 August, the six-day show has a large centre with amusement parks and amusement parks, caressing zoo and processions. At the 2016 edition the 2000s old-rocker Third Eye Blinds and the land act Parmalee and Chase Rice will perform.
Albany County's first trade show was in 1819 at the State Capital and Albany Avenue' Wash. Until 1893 the Mass was relocated to Altamont near by and has stayed ever since. Over 100,000 visitors visit the only three counties of the state - it is the official district trade show of Albany, Greene and Schenectady Counties - each year.
Altamont focuses on farming with fowl, cows, animals, ponies and more. Every morning at 12.00 noon the solid Middleway opens the only three-country exhibition in the country that also represents the Greene and Schenectady districts. Altamont will be held from 16 to 21 August 2016. Balloston Spa is home to Saratoga County Fairgrounds, which in 2015 drew 79,800 visitors to its six-day trade show.
2016 is the year of Saratoga County Fair's celebration, which will include midway riding, a Lego construction contest, talent shows and contests, a demo position darby and balloon racing. On the sound stage the countries The North & South Dakotas, Whiskey City and Big Sky County will perform.
One of the country's most northern district fairs is also one of the best-known. Franklin County Faire, which began in 1850 and relocated to its present location in 1852, was published in "Farmer Boy", a novel by Laura Ingalls Wilder. In 2015, the trade show drew 70,000 visitors and was intended to attract more attention to the strength of their music.
The classical rocker Styx are on the scene in Morrisonville as well as the land based artist Larry Berrio and Jerrod Neimann. Franklin County Faire takes place from August 5th to 14th. The 2016 issue of Cattaraugus County will be held in the district town of Little Valley, about 45 leagues South of Buffalo, from August 1 to 7.
The last year's trade show drew 68,000 visitors, more are expected this year. Dustin Lynch will perform on the 4 August on the central platform. The Hemlock Little World's Market will be held in Livingston County from July 19-23, 2016. This fifth days meeting drew 34. Thousand in 2015, attracting thousands of visitors with rideshares and mega jets.
They will both be back in 2016, as will belt races, tractors and a couple of wrecking derbyes. The Clinton County Festival in Morrisonville in 2016 will be headlined by Ricky Skaggs. On July 21, the countrymusic legends will be on tour. Starting on July 19, the six-day show will feature the final of North Country's Got Talent, a local talents factory, as well as a mid-way, demo collection of Débies and tractors.
Over 30,000 visitors came to the trade show in 2015. Madeie and Tae in the bleachers at the Clinton County Festival 2015. St. Lawrence County hosted its first mass near the town of Canton in 1851. After eight years, the governor had his first mass, which was not unusual in the area, as many cities had only one.
Much of the tradeshows that took place locally were dying in the late 1800' and early 1900', but it was not until 1934 that the Governor and St Lawrence County Fairs came together. 2016 will open on August 2nd with the Charlie Daniels Band and will run until August 7th.
