Approvals | Medical School
For AMCAS: Requests must be received by AMCAS by October 15. Up north:: The application to the Medical School must be completed by December 1. Many thanks for your interest in participating in the College of Medicine of SUNY Upstate Medical University. Every year, about 160 undergraduates from more than 75 college and university attend Upstate's College of Medicine.
Each year the college accepts about 5,000 applicants. The College of Medicine of Upstate Medical University accepts applicants from U.S. nationals, long-term resident, non-U.S. nationals and persons qualifying for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) program. Once the SUNY Upstate Medical University Admissions Office has received a complete submission, our employees begin a full, integrated examination.
As part of an integrated examination procedure, we view the candidate as a whole and not as separate parts, such as GPA or test results. We are evaluating candidates who make a useful contribution to the SUNY Upstate Medical University academical population. An integrated approach considers aspects such as the strengths of the course work, academical and extra-curricular interests, singular talent, backgrounds and personalities.
We take the opportunity to get to know candidates as individuals and not as figures by taking a comprehensive view of their work. The SUNY Upstate Medical University needs to pass back-office examinations for all recognized medical undergraduates. While it is highly recommendable, we do not demand that your physical classes be computer-based, unlike other medical faculties.
Candidates may submit their applications without having fulfilled all the requirements, provided, however, that all remaining compulsory classes are successfully concluded before enrolment. In order to fill out an application: The requestor is responsible for ensuring that we receive all documents before the expiry of the relevant time limits.
In the event that an assignee chooses to revoke his request, we request that he inform us in written form as soon as possible. The SUNY Upstate Medical University:
