los Rios Community College District
Los Rios Community College Districts is a dedicated community college area that provides administration and government to community college in Greater Sacramento and points eastwards to Lake Tahoe (map). Los Rios Community College is led by CEO/Chancellor (Daniel) Brian King of Folsom, California.
King's former post was Chairman of Cabrillo Community College in Aptos, California. Four districtwide schools are registered and several" off-campus education centers" have been established for certain geographical communities: Joint administration such as HR, procurement, accounting and information technologies are provided for the universities in a dedicated off-campus group.
The head offices of Los Rios are located on Spanos Court on Arden-Arcade in the Sacramento district. In 1965, the results of an electoral process on 17 March 1964 resulted in the founding of the Los Rios Junior College District, around Sacramento City College (1916), which split from the Sacramento City Unified School District, and American River College (1942), which split from the Grant Joint Union High School District.
At the time the county was founded, 10,632 college enrolments were registered. In 1967, one of the first activities of the new Los Rios quarter was the formation of a design board, which bought new lands for prospective colleges: just outside Sacramento in Natomas, just outside Elk Grove and just outside Folsom.
Considering its forecasts for future expansion, which have been of inestimable value to the Rotary Foundation over the years, this panel has proven to be correct. The real estate value in these areas has skyrocketed and the acquisition of the necessary plot of ground for an entire college site could be outrageous. The Cosumnes River College opened in 1970 on the grounds to the souths.
In 1980, about 44,500 people were enrolled at the district's three schools. In 1995, a total of 53,000 enrolled at the district's three universities. The county opened the 109th Community College in California, Folsom Lake College, on the grounds just south of Sacramento in Folsom in 2004. In 2005, about 71,000 enrolled at the district's four universities.
