Number of Anchors4: Barnes & Noble, Lord and Taylor, Macy's, Sears, Livingston Mall has around 110 specialist retailers and is managed by Barnes & Noble, Lord & Taylor, Macy's and Sears. The Livingston Mall was designed in the 1960' and opened in phases, beginning with Bamberger's in 1971, followed by the Mall itself in 1972 with further Ankerläden, Sears, M. Epstein and Hahne & Company in 1972.
This mall profited from the emigration of the northern New Jersey community to the suburbs and suburbs and the emigration of buyers and businesses from Newark city center, once the first mall in northern New Jersey, which has been in sharp decline since the racial unrest in July 1967. Bamberger's and Hahne & Co. both had shops in the city centre of Newark when the mall opened, Sears also had a shop on Elizabeth Avenue in Newark's once-loved South Ward.
1986 the Bamberger's Stores was changed into Macy's. 1985 Hahne is shut down to make way for Stern's and then Lord & Taylor. The M. Epstein shop was rebuilt to an extension for Macy's at this point in the city. The Sears remain the only remaining anchors of the shopping centre. The Livingston Mall is situated at the junction of Eisenhower Parkway and South Orange Avenue and is reachable from Junction 04A of Interstate 280, New Jersey Route 10, New Jersey Route 24, Interstate 78 and Interstate 287.
The Community Coach 77 from Coach USA also services the shopping mall. Livingston Municipality runs the Livingston Express Shuttle, which runs the shopping mall and South Orange Station.
