Brexit risk closing plants in the UK for Jaguar Land Rover

The British factories and at least 40,000 jobs are at stake if the UK were to leave the European Union without a free Trade Agreement, Britain's largest car manufacturer has cautioned. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has been telling the goverment that while its "heart and soul" are in the UK, a poor Brexit could enforce a rethink, with a no-deal script that forces it out of the UK because of an anticipated 1.2bn burst in fares cost.

JLR Managing Director Dr. Ralf Speth said: "We and our counterparts in the delivery pipeline face an unforeseen scenario if the Brexit talks do not sustain free and smooth EU trading and full internal marktes. In addition, there are 260,000 additional jobs in the company's delivery network.

A poor Brexite transaction would result in Jaguar Land Rover making more than £1.2 billion a year," added Dr Speth. "When I am compelled to go out because we don't have the right deals, we have to shut down factories here in the UK and it will be very, very depressing. In June Airbus said it planned to exit Britain in the case of a "no-deal" Brexit, which could result in the job losses of ten thousand people.

Also BMW was weighing in - its head of custom Stephan Freismuth warned that the enterprise could not produce its goods in Great Britain if Brexit interrupted the delivery line. Big business's involvement in the Brexit discussion has put a strain on ties with the regime in the run-up to Theresa May's Chequers cabinett session on Friday in order to adopt a exit from the EU.

Minister of Hospitals Jeremy Hunt has described company menaces as "totally inappropriate", while Boris Johnson, a senior executive in the administration, has not disavowed saying "f*** business". Greg Clark, Undersecretary of Commerce, in his reply to JLR's final caution: "I'm sorry: In March 2019, the British Retail Consortium warned of the impact of Brexit by alerting UK and EU customers if there was no agreement on the free circulation of goods.

"Smooth trading is vital if the sector is to remain at the levels of choice and value that British shoppers are used to seeing.
