Anything to see what to jump Hudson River Valley - Hyde Park Forum
Early this months we drove almost a whole weeks from Tarrytown to Kinderhook, then we traversed the creek and went down to Fort Montgomery. Kykuit: The three-hour long trip was definitely a worthwhile one. oscobel: enjoying the trip, made some hikes there, had a picknick. It was a great trip and there are many itineraries.
Park Hyde: The Vanderbilt Manson ( "excellent tour"); Roosevelt Pages: liked the head office, the museums and Val-kil. There' are many walks for which you can podcast - we made the podcast but couldn't walk much because it began to rain. Forte Montgomery: The fortress is a mess, and while the movie is good, we felt as if we had listened to the same tales in different places.
We had many other places we wanted to see (Montgomery Place, Cedar Grove, Clermont, The Fields at Omi, Locust Grove, Opus 40, Union Church, Staatsburgh, Lyndhurst), but I just couldn't make it.

Photograph by kind permission of the Nationalparkservice / Bill Uurbin. The Hyde Park packages a strong dosage of story and civilization in a postcode. Known as the birth place of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and home to several Vanderbilt (plus The Culinary Institute of America), it is a funny place to see the past come to life.
This breathtaking complex includes landscaped gardens, one of the oldest gingko tree on the African mainland and a picturesque view of the Hudson River. 13.00 Hyde Park Brewing Company serves artisanal ales and a local meal with beer-centered products such as crunchy brews and cheesecream macs. National Park Service operates Roosevelt Ride, a free shuttleservice between Poughkeepsie Metro North and the Roosevelt Vanderbilt National Historic Sites from May to October.
