It is one of the best ways to cope with the long winter seasons is to go outside and accept them. A number of fantastic ski and toboggan runs right in our back yards will make this winter a lot of enjoyment for the whole group. When you' re not into going on skis, take a session in the spas while the children are outdoors.
The whole familys can spend the whole days there with a cosy chalet for a nice cacao or a dish of broth between the descents and even babysittering! In the Poconos, if you are looking for a quick car ride this winter, you should visit the Great Wolf Inn.
Huge indoors, this aquatic paradise offers lots of games and entertainment for all age groups, from exciting waterslides to a small playground and more. Out of the aquatic centre, the little ones can have a Mani-Pedi in the children's pool or fight a kite in the arch. In the Hudson Valley you'll find an adventure pool, ski, tubing, skate, horse-drawn sleigh ride, children's and more.
During the winter season there are many places where the family can go for a wide range of outside pursuits such as tobogganing, snowshoeing and cross-country ski. Fahestock has a beautiful winter garden, as does Minnewaska State Parc. This winter, attend one of the many festivities and happenings throughout the Hudson Valley. On Saturday 6 February is the winter festival of the Rail Trail.
Chocolate, meals and drinks, children's entertainment, carriage tours, campfires and more. At Wurstboro on February 6, the Winterfest in Beaconon on January 24 and the Winter Hoot on January 29 and 31 are some of my top festivals for this winter. Okay, I suppose it will help if your child is in Legos, but still great for most children and age groups!

Raise most Hudson Valley parents' questions and they will tell you that one of their favourite daily excursions in any season is the Stepping Stones Museum and/or the Norwalk Aquarium in CT.
They can both fill out most of the days independently, but they are near enough to push both of them into a family-friendly wintersday! Enjoy the natural world through one of the many programmes the Hudson Highlands Museum has to choose from this winter. Review the schedule for specific programmes and activities.

There''s no better place in the Hudson Valley to get out of the winter than in one of the many community archives! Taking your kid to your librarians 6 February is a great way to get the children into some of the great librarians programmes, as well as doing a few great familys or just through a schoolbook.
