Hudson Valley Rockefeller Estate - Review of Kykuit, Sleepy Hollow, NY
The Classic Tour shows the building's front storey, part of the garden and the carriage-houses. Altogether approx. 2 1/2 hrs including the brief shuttle from the visitors' centre to the property. Katherine, our tour leader, was very competent and shared the history of the home and the 4 generations of the families who were there.
I would like to go back and visit the home and garden on my next journey. It was a brief ride that was just great. It is a more than 2-hour worthwhile excursion. In the Visitors Centre, take a coach to the hostel and the garden.
There is an outstanding souvenir store and baths in the visitor centre..... I' ve got the "All"-ticket for the big trip. Have you been to Kykuit?
