It is by far the BEST bed and breakfast I have ever been to. Breakfast is not a traditional fast dish, but a full three-course menu, all freshly prepared. Breakfast is made up of: 1st biscuits, 2nd yoghurt and fruits, 3rd cereal All of them are meticulously balance, so if the entrée is cute ( (e.g. pancake with a vanilla-raspberry sauce), then the biscuits are hearty (e.g. Parmigiano muffin), or if the entrée is savoury (e.g. south-west fried egg), then the biscuits are cute ( e.g. lemon, chocolate muffin).
They have a very broad range of Harney & Sons teas that is highly valued and amazing. Besides breakfast, we serve tasty, freshly made biscuits, expresso, coffee as well as afternoon teas every workday. So we were allowed to use the luxury bath, which was very soothing.
It is conveniently located to Hudson city centre.
First of all, I have had the privilege of spending the night in many nice B&Bs, and that is Merino Manor. There are really nice rooms and exceptional baths. They are all spotless and the view is stunning. The breakfast in the excellent dinning room was indeed something really unique and Melinda, who worked there, was delighted.
It is a pleasant place, the rooms are really neat, the breakfast is tasty and the bed comfy. It is unbelievable and there is a beautiful all around veranda to get the most out of the countryside outdoors. We had a lot of equipment to point out sights and a free ticket to Olana, which was a big plus.
We arrived with a short walk, a room keys and a short statement of the regulations; the director walked at 6 o'clock, the front doors were not locked and breakfast was only from 9-10 o'clock. There' s a small TV and lots of video and gaming, but no really cosy place to be.
That was a serious issue, as there was very little space in our room. When the salon was full or the wheather kept you from being on the veranda, you may find the only place to seat in your bed or the hooffeet! Breakfast for one hours seemed too long for early birds and too short for holidaymakers.
Mt Merino Manor is like a factory building; nice, historic and a little chill.
