Hudson Valley B & B Charming - Review of Clark House Bed and Breakfast, Palenville, NY
From NYC for Christmas weekends my man and I agreed and we came over this B&B on-line. Both of us are walkers and wanted to be near North-South-See for a Christmas walk and had been reading the great critiques about this B&B. Clark House is about 15 min from the sea, as are other beautiful falls and landscapes.
It is a wonderful house: some serious loving and foresight went into the interiors, and the outside of the home is also quite nice (recently painted.) The home has a closed veranda with a lovely seating area and (when we visited) a nice Christmas wood, fully ornamented. Outside the building there is a very welcoming and welcoming entrance area.
The decoration and interiors of the building are also very beautiful here: I' ve travelled a great deal in my lifetime and it is obvious that the owner of the home has also travelled the whole wide globe. It has been adorned with various antiquities, culture objects, photographs from India and other lands and has a very ecological character.
Our room was very cosy (high standard ceilings and many of them to keep the guest nice and cosy at nights, especially in December) and very cozy. Mornings, breakfasts were taken to the "Flower Room" (as I call it) at a large dinner with the other people.
The Clark House has only a few rooms, so even with a full B&B there are not too many people at the same time. You can have a nice conversation with the others without the room being overcrowded. During our visit there were two other people at the dinner tables (others had already eaten) and we talked over breakfasts.
We also had the chance to meet one of the owner who served our customers our breakfasts this mornings. Me and my hubby came for a relaxed, cosy Christmas week-end in the middle of the countryside, and we definitely made it.
I' d suggest this B&B to anyone interested in spending some time in the area to discover everything that this part of Hudson has to offer.
