Ten funny things on the Hudson River: Kayaking, cruising and more
From Manhattan to the Adirondacks, the Hudson River offers wonderful countryside, a wealth of historical and recreational possibilities on and around the seas. Ranging from a lofty, river-crossing path to intensive whitewater canals, here are 10 of the best ways to enjoy a full moon on the Hudson.
When you are in the Mid-Hudson Valley area, the Hudson walk is one of those things you just have to do. It' not necessarily "on the Hudson River" - far beyond - but it is a unique way to explore the Hudson River landscape. This 212-foot footbridge, 1.28 miles long, was erected on an old railway viaduct and is the longest raised footbridge in the whole canal.
Every beautiful outing on Hudson will see kayak and canoeists explore the river for a whole afternoon, or maybe even point to point on longer trips. The Hudson is a thoroughly pleasant kayaking adventure, and you can hire, tour and start up and down the river where you can join a group or start on your own.
