The historic Hudson Valley B&B, Buttermilk Falls Inn, has chosen ALICE's messaging portal to enhance worker interaction and co-ordination on the 75 hectare site. The ALICE is the world' s premier operating technique in the hotels sector and combines all departments of the hotels with a single central point for all employees' correspondence and visitor enquiries. Recently ALICE has taken over GoConcierge, a company providing connectivity solutions, to expand its range of technologies and services.
While the Buttermilk estate has been modernised and extended several places since the construction of the house in 1764 (recent extensions have included a world-class spas, a prestigious restaurants, more accommodation and a much-loved function room), the improvement in the inn's technical infrastruc-tur... Before the implementation of ALICE, the employees of the River Inn mainly used walkie-talkies to pass on their work and software to others.
It was not only that there were often not enough walkie-talkies, but also the enormous dimensions and geography of the estate (a mixture of hills and trees) made the communications via walkie-talkies untrustworthy. There were also other ways of expressing inquiries from guests and recording, such as verbally communicated (which was easy to forget) and hard copy protocols (which could be either deleted or not constantly updated).
A sickly real estate management system made things even more difficult. For buttermilk, ALICE has added advantages that go beyond just directing personnel to the area. Hartwell-Kelly is delighted that she can now use ALICE to co-ordinate the collection and delivery of linen at both sites, thus simplifying the necessary supervision.
GM and its employees also appreciate ALICE's capacity to avoid the use of recycled papers and undue pressure, which is in line with Buttermilk Falls' engagement in sustainability practice. In 2017, the firm purchased GoConcierge, a supplier of technical concierges.
