Mr. Froedtert is the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) principal faculty partner where MCW medical college graduates and resident enroll. The Froedtert is approved for 550 people.

The Froedtert facility is on the premises of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, a group of six healthcare facilities. Froedtert, established as Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, opened on September 29, 1980, and was renamed after Kurtis Froedtert, the Milwaukee business man who gave 11 million dollars after his 1951 deaths.

In the year Froedtert opened, it served as a "half-service hospital" and shared the facility with neighbouring Milwaukee County Hospital, which was re-named John L. Doyne Hospital. Froedtert purchased the Milwaukee County Hospital in 1995 and eventually served as a full-service hospital. Froedtert Hospital and Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin joined in 2001 to form Froedtert and Community Health.

Froedtert and Community HH purchased SynergyHealth in West Bend, Wisconsin in July 2008, including St. Joseph's Hospital West Bend and the West Bend Clinic. Froedtert and Community changes its name to Froedtert 2010. This renaming should provide a more consistent organisation with the recent healthcare acquisition.

Froedtert works with other hospital facilities in Wisconsin to ensure the same quality of service in these areas as in the Milwaukee area and is tightly connected to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, as both clinics are on the same MCU. Further hospital regimens with which Froedtert works are ThedaCare in Fox Valley, the United Hospital System in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Agnesian Healthare in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Froedtert was awarded the Solucient Top 100 Cardiovascular Hospital Award in 2007. Froedtert & The MHS Wisconsin was named one of the top 10 U.S. academia based health centres by a nationwide score card to measure the quality, security and cost-effectiveness of non-profit academia-based health centres in 2009.
