Frisco RoughRiders (short: Riders) are a Minor League baseball club and a member of the Texas League. You' re currently the Double-A daughter of the Texas Rangers. They were acquired by Mandalay Entertainment in 2003 in conjunction with Tom Hicks, former owners of Texas Rangers and Southwest Sports Group.
Mandalay Baseball brought her to the North Texas town of Frisco and renamed her RoughRiders. They' re currently playing at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. "Rough Riders" was the name the U.S. media gave to the U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment during the Spanish-American War, led by the next U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt.
Thusuthwest Sports Group (SSG) and Mandalay Sports Entertainment (MSE) enter into an arrangement to jointly own a Double-A, Texas League Franchise based in Frisco, Texas. Officers with the Double-A squad and Frisco and County Collin councillors have laid the foundation stone for a new baseball field to be prepared for the 2003 game.
On July 4th, at an anniversary celebration, the Frisco Professional Baseball Team revealed its new name and brand. RoughRiders Professional Baseball announces its Major League membership in the Texas Rangers. "We' re excited to be Rangers' Double-A partner," said Mike McCall, President & General Manager. "In April a gamer can be a RoughRider and in August a Ranger.
" Frisco RoughRiders today announces that Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc. and the Dr Pepper Bottling Company of Texas have partnered with the RoughRiders to acquire the right to the team's state-of-the-art arena. The RoughRiders announce a sale out of over 10,000 supporters in the first pro match at Dr. Pepper/Seven Up Ballpark.
September 2: Dr. Pepper/Seven Up Ball Park awarded "Best New Ball Park for 2003" Every year the prize is awarded by bereballparks. com goes to the new ball park with the best possible mix of outstanding designs, appealing locations and the best possible facilities for fans. RoughRiders and Dr. Pepper/Seven Up Ballpark's first play-off match was won when the guys beat Wichita.
Drivers come to the Texas League Championship Series to take on the San Antonio missions, but lose four matches against one in the best-of-seven show. Pepper/Seven Up Ballpark saw 675,620 supporters through the hubs in the first year of the RoughRiders, who finished 4th in the overall standings of the smaller team.
At the end of a noteworthy second half, the drivers won the Texas League East Division at the Dr. Pepper/Seven Up Ballpark. Frisco RoughRiders didn't waste a moment sending the Drillers to win the Texas League Eastern Division Championship Series against Western Division Champs Round Rock.
Frisco RoughRiders closed the Express and conquered their first Texas League championship in the second year of their history when Frisco won the Best-of-Seven Texas League Championship Series. 28 July: RoughRiders are combining for A. J. Murray, Steve Karsay and Scott Feldman to a perfectly balanced Corpus Christi world.
It was the first goal-to-zero match in the three-year career of the Frisco RoughRiders. Rough Riders finished third in the South Division. RoughRiders won their first half and for the first year since 2004 won an automated place in the Texas League play-offs.
Coming to the end of the 2007 campaign, Frisco set a consistent 85-55 seasons best ever in RoughRidersing. In the first round of the Texas League Playoffs of San Antonio, Frisco was beaten three matches to zero. Dave Anderson, first year managers, was appointed Texas League Managers of the Year for the first year when a Frisco executive received such an honor.
Frisco RoughRiders proprietor and manager Mandalay properties was voted "Baseball Organization of the Year" by Ballpark Digest. RoughRiders were nominated Bob Freitas Award Winners for Double-A Major League Balloon by BASF in 2007. At this opening ceremony, Frisco beat the big team in one of the last show matches before the normal soccer year.

FRESCisco wins a play-off in the Texas League play-offs with a First Half Championship, the second in the first half of the last two years. The highly competitive Neftalí Feliz made his Double-A début in Frisco with several pitch lengths over 100mp-h.

The RoughRiders won both the first and second half title for the first and the second half of their franchising career with a combination of 84-56. Frisco swept San Antonio and advanced into the championship series to meet Arkansas.
