Autumn Schedule for Upstate NY in 2017: Excursions, parties, meals, entertainment

Autumn is a wonderful period to come to Upstate New York. This is my pail of 21 things I can do this year. Do you have a "bucket list" for autumn? Put on your clothes on this ever-growing feast in honour of the "stinking rose". There were only a few hundred visitors to this event in 1989, the year it was founded.

Living cuisine, a dozen of salesmen, familys, food of all types and a garlic market place where you can scratch your heads (e.g. fried garlic and caramelised onion jam). One of the best expeditions in the capital region is hosted by a large private business. It' the biggest one-day party in Upstate New York.

Attractions are the revolving stage with life acts and all funky stores and sellers along Lark Street. My major draw is the large selection of groceries available in a barn from Edinburgh based Edinburgh based Edinburgh based Agribusiness.

Free 15 autumn activities for children in and around Sleepy Hollow, NY

The good thing is that we are living in one of the most autumnal places (who makes Halloween like Sleepy Hollow?). Being a Sleepy Hollow jaw orthopedist, Dr. Kothari gets an insight into what is happening locally from his clients and we are more than pleased about this. It takes place every Saturday, Thanksgiving Day, from 8:30 to 14:00 in Patriots Park.

That makes the shortlist of our best Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown kid's activities due to the variety of kids' programmes on the boardwalk, among them the Macaroni Kid's handicraft tables, Yogakurse, nature excursions, storytime and an eventful tast. Irvington has a range of autumn activities for youngsters, but don't miss the Harvest Hayride.

Saturday, October 21, from 6pm to 8:30pm, you will be spending the night with your relatives and acquaintances in Matthiessen Park. An Arts Westchester-funded Arts Alive Scholarship gives Sleepy Hollow and Tarytown people free entertainment during Hispanic Heritage Month. Immerse yourself in the dance with Rebeca Tomás, an entertaining dance performance for the whole familiy on Monday, September 18, September 25 and October 2 at 6:30 pm on the third level of the school.

Experience the Halloween ghost with a trip to Sleepy Hollow Gemetery. Get a free card and go to the graveyard to enjoy the nice autumn weathers. Saturday 14 October (Sunday 15 October) at 10:30 am, take old clothing and drive to Patriots Park.

Tarrytown Recreation Department provides hay and frame for participants to design their own Scarecrow. Saturday, 28 October, from 18:30 to 21:00 (if the wheather permits), visitors of all age groups can gaze at the moon and stars as they watch the stars at work. Sleepy Hollow Street Fair will be taking place on Saturday, 14 October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in all weathers.

Release the children in the children's fun and then walk through the show to check out the sellers and taste the dishes of the locals' cuisine. Looking for free activities for children in Dobbs Ferry, Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Ossining or anywhere in the Hudson Valley, look no further than your own nearby parks, as the banks of the Hudson River are top class foliage-peeping areas.

Luminous but volatile autumn colours culminate somewhere between early October and early November, although they vary each year. The New York Fall Foliage Report gives you an overview. One of the best sites for this wonder of nature is Old Croton Aqueduct State Historic Park (15 Walnut Street, Dobbs Ferry), Kingsland Point Park (Palmer Avenue, Sleepy Hollow) and the Teatown Lake Reserve (1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining).

Saturday, October 28th, put on your best Halloween costumes and see the cars and groups coming down Broadway from Patriots Park at 5:30 pm and ending on Main Street..... For three years in a row, the Halloween extravagance was elected "Best of Westchester". At the end of the procession, you' ll be on Main Street for dinner, a DJ and touring.

One rainy day is planned for Sunday, 29 October. The Warner Library's story times are always one of our most popular free activities for children in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow because they promote a passion for books and learn. Autumn story time sessions run until December 15. Walking is another great activities for children and young people in Westchester.

Get a breath of air and movement while hiking through the Hudson Valley's magnificent countryside. Mommy Poppins has some great suggestions for easy walks in the area for small children. The Hastings Historical Society organizes an open day on the first Saturday of the months, from September to June, from 2 pm to 4 pm at its site in the former Draper Observatory in Draper Park.

Saturday, October 14th, from 1pm to 8pm, you will participate in the biggest Dobbs Ferry Dobbs Ferry Families meeting of the year. This year' s festival, which takes place in rainy or sunny weather, will be characterised by traders, eating, dancing, entertainment, concerts and handicrafts. Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct organises free and publicly accessible walks in autumn.
