The Del Mar College (DMC) is a 1935 established college in Corpus Christi, Texas. DMC Associate in Arts and Associate in Science, which has been recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, provides Associate in Arts and Associate in Science qualifications in over 50 degree programs and Associate in Applied Science qualifications, Enhanced Skills Certificates and Certificates of Achievement in more than 80 professional areas.

In early 2005, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board attended college and gave 14 programmes an example - a benchmark for an organization the magnitude of Del Mar College. Attendance at classes with specific planning option, week-end, online, video conferencing and shortterm classes, and Rapid Track, an expedited programme that allows the student to graduate an Associate in Arts year.

The $108 million government loan facility has enabled the Del Mar College East and West to be extensively renovated and expanded and the DMC Annex, which accommodates the Center for Economic Education, to be developed. Non- and loan-student alike have at their disposal courses, labs and the latest technologies to improve their present abilities, preparing them for further studies or training them for immediate work in the Coastal Bend area.

The Del Mar College's Nestlé Nursery Programme has one of the biggest simulated laboratories in the country, with over 30 dummies with programmed vitals, ECG control and speech input. This programme is certified by the ACEN (Accreditation Committee for Training in Nursing). Over the 2009-2011 timeframe, the number of under 80 per cent of eligible National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) candidates decreased and the programme was set to "conditional admission status" by the accrediting group.

It tightened the eligibility requirements and provisionally completed the enrollment of new undergraduates in the Registered Nurse Education programme until the exam quota for existing undergraduates rose to over 80 per cent. This programme brought a success rates of 96% for 2012 and 90% for 2013. Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Alumni of this programme are qualified for a Certificate of Achievement and can take the exam for certifying their skills. Whoever passes the exam becomes Certified Surgical Technologists (CST). This two-year programme for therapists provides an Associate in Science Degree and begins every year in autumn.

Emergency Medical Services Professions curriculum at Del Mar College is designed by the National Standard Curriculum of the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration-Department of Transportation in accordance with all regulations of the Texas Department of State Health Services.

In addition to academic and non-credit classes, the college also acts as a crossroads for culture. For a 12-hour course, college undergraduates in the county are charged $1,181. The Del Mar College provides over $16 million a year to help our undergraduates succeed in the forms of fellowships, stipends, loans, research workers and work-shops. Currently, over 22,000 credits and non-credits are enrolled each year, with an annual enrolment of 11,400 people.
