You can drive from London Victoria to Blackpool in as little as 6h20*. We at Blackpool know how to have a good time. Well-known Blackpool Illuminations illuminate the sea in rainy or sunny conditions, while Blackpool Tower is a sparkling lighthouse for a mile. Whilst some UK bathing towns are trying to re-invent themselves, Blackpool is attracting billions of visitors from all over the globe by providing large-scaled, classic UK bathing pleasure.
The Blackpool amusement arcade is a large area: the Blackpool amusement park: For those who like it a bit quieter, the classical Thompson Carousel or the Pleasure Beach Express are available, while Spongebob and buddies in Nickolodeon Land can join in. Although about half the height of the Eiffel Tower, an excursion to the top of the iconic Blackpool is still a must.
There is also a great deal to do at the various floors of the lighthouse. Begin with a trip to the creepy Blackpool Tower Dungeon, where you can get bogged down in a labyrinth of mirrors, take part in a lawsuit or try drop dead, a correspondingly bloody drive on the executioner's slings.
We continue to the splendid Blackpool Tower Ballroom, a great place to play Rokoko, which could have come directly from the beautiful and the beast. Then, drive to the Tower Eye to watch a four-dimensional movie about the story of Blackpool before taking the lift to the viewing platform with its heartbreaking back.
The SEA LIFE also cover a wide range of different habitat types, from Blackpool's own ecosystems to the enigmatic undersea. At a year-round 84 degrees Celsius, Sandcastle Water Park provides the much needed warmth to Blackpool all year round. The UK's biggest water park, Sandcastle has 18 water chutes, 4 of which are specially designed for thrill-seekers.
The Sandcastle Waterpark also established its own water slide record with Masterblaster, the world's longest roller coaster water slide, and Sidewinder, the world's first ever water slide. As a free exhibition under the Blackpool Tower, the Carpet is a giant tessellation of over 800 fun quotations, one-liners and classical keywords from the legendary comedians - many of whom have appeared in Blackpool.
Aficionados should watch out for Morecambe and Wise, Alexei Sayle and quotations from TV legends like Blackadder, Fawlty Towers and Dad's Army. It may have its own Hollywood walking of fame, but Blackpool combines the visitor with a smile and a smile.
