Adelaide to adventure: Five day trips from Adelaide
There are many easily accessible locations from Hahndorf to Barossa in an hours or two by car from Adelaide. There is no other town offering as many simple day trips as Adelaide. Travel half an hours to the Adelaide Mountains, an area with an amazing variety of rides for a place near the cityscape. Only 28 kilometers from the center of the capital is the gem of the hills: Hahndorf. The Hahndorf is a picturesque place with a singular story. Hahndorf was founded in 1839 by Lutheran Germans and is Australia's oldest preserved ethnic community, whose legacy is still evident today in its historic roads.
Explore gorgeous art galleries and souvenir stores that sell handmade jewelry, toy, jewelry and other souvenirs. There are a number of magnificent vineyards throughout the area, and Adelaide Hills Chardonnay is an icon. Children will like Hahndorf Farm Barn or Cleland Wildlife Park - one of the few places in Australia where you can snuggle up a kala.
Approximately two hrs south of Adelaide, the pretty Burra is a paradise for antiques hunters and lovers of historical treasures. Here, remains of Australia's endangered mega fauna, the dipotodon, as well as many endangered flora and fauna have been found. You will visit nice old houses, a great local art galleries and a local heritage store and several antiques and vintages shops.
Take your way back to the breathtaking Clare Valley, one of Australia's oldest winegrowing areas. Just an hours from Adelaide, you'll find sparkling landscapes and wonderful sands. Remember the great vinification of Australia, think the Barossa. Less than 60 kilometers from the town - about an hour's ride - it is an easiest day trip.
More than 200 vineyards and cellars between small towns and streets with renowned brands such as Seppeltsfield, Angaston and Tanunda. Barossa is home to vegetable orchards with grapes, drupes, citrus fruit and much more, all used by craftsmen who make fine chocolate, heart pieces, chocolate and bakery products. You' ll find it all at the renowned Barossa Farmers Markets, Maggie Beer's Farm Shop, Barossa Valley Cheese Company and a variety of great dining and cafes.
Approximately 100 kilometers from Adelaide or just over an hour's car ride, Mannum is the ideal place to relax and unwind on the rivers.
