Best places to Stay in Hudson Valley new York

The best accommodation in Hudson Valley New York

5 of our favourite accommodations this autumn Now, as the wonderful colours of the summit plunge have begun to bang, our longing for faraway places has gone through the awning. We' re dying to get out of town because this is probably the best season of the year to see New York. Be it a week-end trek to take in the leaves or a spur-of-the-moment outing with a friend or beloved, we thought we would be sharing our 5 favourite places with you to stay in the hinterland this autumn.

This minimalist haven offers total isolation and intimacy and is the perfect place for two people in the hinterland and a breathtaking backdrop for social gatherings and photoshoots. If you want to explore your stay outdoors, the Chute is just a few steps away from some of the best walking routes, among them the entry to Sam's Point Preserve, famous for its spectacular waterfalls, rocks, glaciers and view.

For a little extravagance and story, the recently renovated Hasbrouck House, a 1800s style shop in an old 1800s villa in Ston Ridge, Holland, is the perfect place to stay. Gowanus Hospitality Group's gifted staff is dedicated to honoring the historical dignity of the former guesthouse on Lake Stoney Ridge and offering our clients the contemporary comfort of a five-star resort.

All of Hasbrouck House's 17 suite designs are unique and feature a blend of antique and contemporary, frettes, goose down bed linen and Kiehl's bathing accessories. Situated in the heart of the Hudson Valley, close to a variety of cities such as Kingston, Woodstock and Phoenicia, the resort offers everything you could wish for an autumn getaway, from extensive plots and easy stone-ridge orchard entry to fluffy lodges, nocturnal campfires and Butterfield, the home of head cook Shawn Burnette's faint-hearted US cuisine.

Situated in the centre of Saugerties, this enchanting Airbnb is the house in the hinterland you are looking for. The Saugerties house dates from the early 1900s and has been wonderfully renovated to emphasise its pristine detail with contemporary designs and comfort. Don't miss the opportunity to go to Saugerties Lighthouse, one of our favourite places in the whole hinterland for a barbecue on the Hudson, just five minutes by car away.

The Saugerties offers space for 8 persons and is an excellent place to meet your family for an autummonweekend. Whale and Grove combines ancient items with contemporary designs and has an elegance that is already present when you enter the hous. Once you have enjoyed the chimneyed home with a minibar, drive to historical Hudson, just 10 mins. away.

In Hawkins, NY, we suggest you stop for your choice of contemporary accessoires and furnishings before having a snack and a beverage in the BackBar, a South East Asian-inspired restaurant and dining community designed by James Beard award winner Zak Pelaccio. Become the first to reserve a room at Scribner's Lodge, a Catskills base that has been giving keys to inland travellers since 1966.

Reconstructed last year by Studio Tack in Brooklyn, the chalet has 38 exquisite rooms with deep maps, old carpets, individual furnishings and contemporary comforts. Located in the Hunter skiing area, it is an ideal starting point for those enjoyable autumn events, from walking, horse back riding and eating apples to visiting craft and arts shows.

If you are lazing at one of the many chimneys, admire the autumn leaves from a terrace or dine in the restaurants of the hotels, you will surely be relaxed and fresh.
