They can use automatic weather stations as individual research stations or as part of a network, e.g. a mesonet. The Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) units are operated and controlled by the Federal Aviation Administration. Mention is made of the history of automatic weather stations and the navy type station is described.

In contrast to manually operated weather station, automatic weather station cannot indicate the cloud count and cloudy number. At present, all phenomenon that do not affect the sensors, such as wafts of mist, are not observed. 1 ] The switch from handheld observation to automatic weather station is a large non-climatic shift in the CAB.

6 ] The changes in instruments, housing and site can result in a leap, e.g. in the measurable temperatures or rainfall levels, which can result in incorrect assessments of climatic developments. Datalogger is the core of the automatic weather station. The datalogger can be conceived by the suppliers in high-quality weather station as a perfectly suited answer for a specific weather customer.

Principal features of a datalogger are: Measuring: The datalogger gathers the information from each of the sensors and stores it. Computation: The datalogger can process most of the weather information for the user (avg, minimum, maximum....). Datalogging: The datalogger stores all datalog information either on its own or on an USB flash drive.

Electricity supply: The datalogger administers the electricity supplies of the automatic weather station, e.g. via a photovoltaic board. Communications: The datalogger administers the communications logs with the distant servers. A 2-metre pole is used to measure a person's physical state. Pole size refers to the top level.

A 3-metre pole is used to measure harvesting related factors (e.g. grain, sucrose etc.) The pole size is based on harvest altitude. A 10-metre pole is used to measure the parameter without being affected by obstacles such as a tree, building or other obstacles.

The most important weather indicator at this altitude is usually windspeed and heading. This 30 metre long pole is used to measure paramters over layered distance for the purpose of modeling datas. Others are installed around 2 meters or lower. Hop up to: a big d e f King, Jeremy.
