The capital's garden & flower show district
Feast your eyes on the miracles of springs at the year' s Capital District Garden & Flower Show in Troy, NY! This yearly flower display window will return to the 60,000 square meter McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College from Friday, March 23 to Sunday, March 25, 2018. Known for its large-format landscaping and creative landscaping, the Capital District Garden & Flower Show gathers together community pros to turn the area into a courtyard setting of bushes, plants, trees, cathedrals, lakes, waterfalls, supporting wall, footpaths and grass.
At the heart of the Capital District Gardens & Flower Show is the yearly Flower Designs Competition, in which around 100 astonishing and entertaining items are presented by florists, horticultural clubs and ham. On Sundays, trade fairgoers will be able to cast their votes for their favourite flower designs until 1 p.m. The Capital District Gardens & Flower Show offers a wide range of shows, talks and speeches by native and provincial professionals, among them the horticulturist and renowned writer Tovah Martin.
Further lecturers will be Fred Bregalia from Landis Arboretum, Peter Bowden from Hewitt's Garden Center, Suzanne Balet-Haight from Balet Flowers and Design and teachers and horticulturists from Cornell Cooperative Extension.
