The village of Cold Spring traces its history back deep into the 18th century as a harbor for passing river traffic between New York and Albany. Important Revolutionary iron works were located nearby and in the 19th century major brick works continued the industrial traditions of the area.

In the 20th century all of this disappeared and Cold Spring became a principle stop along the northbound trains out of New York City. This quite naturally led to the area becoming a very desirable residential community for commuters into the city.

It also led Cold Spring to become a very easily reachable day and weekend destination out of New York City. Located in the village are several excellent bed & breakfasts and country inns and the main street is lined with antique shops, auction galleries and store fronts selling unique wares. From Irish imports to early American furniture, you can find it in charming Cold Spring, just a short train ride north of New York City.

Come up and spend a romantic day or weekend in charming Cold Spring. The accommodations are excellent, the food is sublime and the views are magnificent.
