The idea
of a ski resort in the Northern Catskills was
introduced by a New York State legislative committee
in the late 1950s. They considered developing a state-run
resort on Cave Mountain, just off Main Street in the
Town of Windham. Although this project never advanced
beyond the discussion stage, the idea took hold and
a group of private investors purchased the land for
a ski area in 1960 and Windham Mountain was born. During
its 45 years of existence the resort has become associated
with customer care and attentiveness to its guests.
The beauty of Windham Mountain is
that it's filled with moments of pure exhilaration for
skiers and boarders of every level. Just starting out?
Wooly Bear is the perfect slope for practicing your
stops and turns. Intermediates looking for an adrenaline
rush can check out Lower Wolverine or Upper Wiseacres.
And experts out for a sick run should definitely hit
Upper Wheelchair.
A family friendly ski resort, Windham
Mountain has terrain, equipment and lessons for every
member of the family at every level of abilities. Ski
down the exhilirating slopes, tube in the Adventure
Park, snowboard on special trails or take a lesson from
one of the instructors. Windham Mountain has it all.
How's this for a mid-afternoon moment?
You're rocketing down a 650-foot snow-covered slope,
lying flat on your back in a canvas-covered tube. And
the only thing louder than your shrieks of delight are
the screams of pure joy coming from your kids in the
next lane.
It's called snow tubing, Windham style,
and it's just one more way we try to make your day on
the mountain an unforgettable adventure. And give Mom
the opportunity to push Dad down a mountain.
Located at our Mountaintop Adventure
Park, the tubing hill is many lanes of downhill fun.
Best of all, no skill is required. Just as long as you're
tall enough to get in and out of the tube, you can ride.
